About RB Engineering, Inc.The engineering company began its operations as a sole proprietorship in October 2000 in Cary, North Carolina. Ron Bittler founded the firm after years of performing consulting work for larger engineering companies that performed both forensic engineering and design engineering. The firm began continuing this work, but expanded, now performing jobs for a wide variety of clients in the public and private sectors. In October 2003, RB Engineering incorporated, spurring further growth within the company. Today, RB Engineering, Inc. performs structural engineering for all sectors of our state's economic reaches and beyond. About Ron Bittler, PERon Bittler obtained his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Bucknell University in 1993. Since that time, Ron has held jobs at several high profile engineering firms, gaining valuable work experience along the way. He started his career at the Maryland State Highway Administration, where he inspected and designed bridge repairs, reviewed construction shop drawings, and managed field construction. During this time, his bridge design team was awarded the 1997 "Bridge Team of the Year" honor for response to a fire damaged bridge on the Baltimore Beltway. Ron next went on to work for Corman Construction, Inc. located in Annapolis Junction, Maryland. Here he supervised the construction of million dollar projects including a Delaware bridge rehabilitation project on I-95 and a streetscape project in Hancock, MD. After a brief stint performing Florida DOT work, Ron and his family moved into the Triangle region of North Carolina, first working for Rummel, Klepper and Kuhl, Inc. While at RK&K, Ron was responsible for performing design work on North Carolina DOT bridge projects - including the design of the US 64 bridge over the Scuppernong River. Ron is a Professional Engineer and is currently registered in seven states: Florida, Maryland, North Carolina, South Carolina, Mississippi, Alabama and Virginia. Ron is also NCEES certified and has also obtained a Bridge Inspector Certification. Ron is married to Abby and has three children: Leah, Anna & Henry.
